About the play: Snake Island
A looming tribal election brings old and new faces to the annual pow wow on a small rez on the north shore of Lake Huron. Secrets about the land and its residents are forced to be reconciled with as an off rez girl starts asking a few too many questions. Does a tik tok carry the same weight as an elder sharing teachings? Is there ever a point where nature will say we’ve taken too much? Is there a limit to who really belongs to the community? The vultures are circling and they couldn’t give a damn about any of this, they are just waiting for the bodies to hit the floor.
