About: Mariya is excited to continue working on her play which she started investigating at the Gillespie House Playwrights Retreat in June, 2024. This text will be concentrated around the ability to create and hear the Song in times of big disasters. Mariya hopes to reveal her connection to Ukrainian language in a parallel to the Russian language, both cultures living in one person, and being politically in a war conflict these days. This time, she will explore the structure of the text, the nature of it (why is it a theatre play, not an essay, etc.) with the content is still being widened. With a big gratitude to the team of Driftwood theatre, who supports her project on the most vulnerable first stage of development, Mariya is excited to bring this text into the exploration again.
