About: With support from Driftwood theatre, Mariya continues working on her play with a working title “A Spin”. In 2026, she focuses on developing a second draft of the script, refining its dramaturgical structure and preparing the work for artistic collaboration. The development process includes close work with a dramaturg, Caitie Graham, whose role is essential in shaping the non-linear narrative, clarifying thematic through-lines, and ensuring accessibility for Canadian audiences unfamiliar with the historical Ukrainian context. Mariya is also hopeful to start exploring the musical and visual world of the play with her fellow Ukrainian artists.
