PLAYWRIGHTS AROUND THE HOUSE

Since 2004, Driftwood’s new play development programs (including the Beyond the Bard Playwrights Unit and the Trafalgar24 Festival) have nurtured the creation of over 100 short and 10 full-length plays. Since moving from Toronto to Picton and partnering with The Gillespie House Bed & Breakfast in 2022, we’ve implemented several new initiatives that take this impact even further. 

The Playwrights Around the House Program (PATH) is our primary new play development stream that takes epic and mythic ideas from inception to production. We invest in long term relationships with Ontario playwrights, and collaborate with them to create bespoke development processes that serve their project.

The PATH program has truly helped me develop my idea for The Onion Cellar and supported me in navigating a completely new approach to my process. The Onion Cellar is a big project, and with Driftwood’s experience and the PATH program, I believe this dream will come to life.
