Shakespeare’s Shorts

Immerse your student in the world of William Shakespeare by booking a Driftwood Theatre Shakespeare’s Shorts workshop.

Driftwood offers performance-based workshops geared towards guiding students’ towards a deeper understanding of Shakespeare and his plays. Our workshops put students front and centre and get them on their feet experiencing Shakespeare through lively and interactive exercises and activities.

Shakespeare’s Shorts workshops are customized to the specific needs of your classroom. We’ll work with you to create an experience for your students suited to their level of ability and understanding. Sample topics include:

  • An introduction to Shakespeare’s world
  • Understanding Shakespeare’s language
  • Iambic Pentameter boot camp
  • Secrets of performing Shakespeare
  • Breaking down a Shakespeare scene
  • 30-minute Shakespeare
  • Shakespeare in performance master class

Each workshop is led by a professional facilitator, can be booked for up to 30 students, and has a duration of 70 minutes.

What is the age range/grade level and subject area (ie: English, Drama, History) of participants?

All Shakespeare’s Shorts workshops are $225 (bookings outside of the City of Toronto are subject to a transportation fee of approximately $50 for GTA, and $75+ for workshops taking place outside of the GTA. Discount package rates available (call for details).
