Audition Information

The Driftwood Theatre Group holds annual General Auditions in December/ January at least once every other year. The annual deadline for submissions is November 15.

Although we audition both equity and non-equity performers, all applicants should be forewarned that Driftwood Theatre is interested in fully integrating text, movement, and vocal-music based theatre as a means of full exploring the theatrical form. All applicants are therefore encouraged to note their classical text, singing, and physical theatre experience in their submissions.

To be considered for future auditions forward a copy of your headshot and resume (clearly indicating equity/actra status), accompanied by a cover letter, to Artistic Director Jeremy Smith at jsmith@driftwoodtheatre.com.

Being Green: In an effort to reduce paper waste and save some trees, Driftwood Theatre does not accept submissions by regular post. Emails only please.

Trafalgar 24 Script Submissions

Each year, Driftwood Theatre invites six playwrights to take part in Trafalgar 24, our annual juried festival of new environment-based theatre created within a 24-hour period.

Playwrights who would like to be considered for Trafalgar 24 should submit:

-a brief cover letter, in the body of an email, introducing themselves and outlining why the Trafalgar 24 experience is of interest

-a script sample from a play you have written, maximum FIVE pages, 12pt font with a 1” margin, submitted in PDF or Microsoft Word 2003 (or older) format. No other formats will be accepted.

Submissions are accepted by email only, no later than December 15 annually, and should be sent directly to Artistic Director D. Jeremy Smith at jsmith@driftwoodtheatre.com.

Volunteer

Volunteering for Driftwood is a great way to meet new people, experience theatre at a whole new level, and contribute to the ongoing success of Ontario’s most exciting, accessible theatre. Whether you would like to make a contribution of just a few hours (Front of House Volunteer) or many (Board of Directors), there is always a role for you to play at Driftwood.

For consideration on Driftwood’s Board of Directors, contact board@driftwoodtheatre.com

For consideration as a Front of House Volunteer during Trafalgar 24 or The Bard’s Bus Tour, contact info@driftwoodtheatre.com
